We are working on the new stamp and letter font palette for my custom pieces. I am really loving these new script fonts as well as some fun more modern ones.
Sorry for the large amount of posts this weekend, I just have so much new stuff to share. I have been gathering script letterpress type this month to try to add new font options to the custom pieces. Here is one of my favorites. I only have it in lowercase, but I really love how it looks. I will add a new example palette soon to all my listings.
I have the finished custom photo decal sample urns from the kiln. I love how they turned out and I am excited to make more. I created an add on listing for the my etsy shop. These can be added onto any custom urn.
I am starting a load of samples with decals in an attempt to have a new offering for the custom urns. Thank you @jrothshank for the detailed instructions on your website for laser printer toner diy decals! These should turn sepia color after the firing.
I think my inability to photograph my finished work quickly before shipping it out is due to the baby hammock hanging above my photography surface in our living room. So for now I can hold them up and take a quick iPhone photo while the baby sleeps. This urn is my new size, medium wide, I added it to all of my smaller size straight listings.
I have been shipping kiln loads of finished work before I have a chance to photograph them and turn the best ones into new listing examples. Here is one I wish I would have pulled out my good camera for because I love how it turned out. (Satin bone white on porcelain with dove grey glaze in the text on a size large.)
I'm loving working from my home studio this summer. There is a baby boy sleeping in the hammock in there as I work into the evening on your custom orders. I start taking back my gallery next week, but it will be a while until I am fully transitioned back to that space. It's just too good here right now. #vitrifiedstudiocollection
I am working on updating my custom urn and vase listings. I had a few people request cursive or script custom letters as a font option as well as larger flowers, so I increased my stamp collection. And I just won a new set on an eBay auction, so I will have one more very clean and modern/ 1950s set to add. I need to make a new stamp palette on clay to show all of these new letters and the new shape stamp options.
We just received our newborn photos back from our photo session with @katieandersonphotography . They are so sweet and beautiful. Here is a set of cups that I am sending to Katie today as a little thank you for the photo sessions. I made a listing in my etsy shop for these custom text cups/ small vases if any one else is interested in a set of 6.
It's getting to be time for me to move back into my gallery and I don't have a great transition plan as I have a tiny baby at home now. I'd like to see if any friends or friends of friends are interested in sharing the gallery with me for a while. Preferably non ceramic friends I think. Email me if you'd like to talk. #vitrifiedstudiocollection Vitrifiedstudio@gmail.com
Help! I am working on re-activating my website and Amazon shop, as well as updating my etsy shop and I need your help. I am looking for past or current custom urns customers who have shopped on my Etsy site and have feedback you'd like to privately share with me due to frustrations with my listings or being not satisfied with my design offerings. Have you wanted to buy an urn but couldn't figure out how or didn't see what you wanted? Please email me your feedback. I will offer free pottery in exchange for your helpful feedback. I am looking to make my custom urn listings much better and I would love your feedback, especially if you wanted to buy an urn but got frustrated with my shop and didn't buy it. The better the suggestions and feedback, the more free pottery I will send you. Please email me at email@example.com and don't comment below.
I am finally back in the (home) studio this week, after a few weeks of my maternity leave. I'm doing a FLASH SALE to kick off the month of July. Here is the current flash sale listing, custom vases in off white stoneware available in 3 sizes and a few greys, whites, black and blues. I adjusted my profile link to go straight to this special flash sale listing in my etsy shop, https://www.etsy.com/listing/180068342/flash-sale-off-white-vase-stoneware. It will still be another month until I am back in the gallery.
Our newborn photo shoot with @katieandersonphotography . We loved having Katie photograph our son, West Luca, born a couple of weeks ago.
These last few months, my custom pottery has reached even closer to heart. I had previously known the pain of losing a dog who was my best friend, so the pet urns always had a strong heart felt connection to me. And I was always greatly touched by the significance and honor of when someone would choose me to make the urn for their loved one, a husband, mother, father, grandmother, adult child. But these past few months, I have had an increase in infant urn orders, just as I was in the middle to now last days of my own pregnancy. These are the vessels that touch me so deeply right now as I can almost imagine the pain that the parents must be going through from the miscarriages, still born babies, and then the ones that only make it days, months or few short years. I wish I could do more for all of my customers. I wish I could speed the process, make the urns more perfect or more special or more beautiful. I know for many of them, the urn is the only thing they will have of their loved one in the years and decades to come, and I am touched by the honor of having it come from my hands into their home forever. I want all of my urn customers to know I am right here with you. Thank you.
I'm all moved back into my backyard studio. Which did become the bike room since I moved into the gallery. Now I just need to finish all of my open orders. This baby is coming like a freight train. Hopefully not until after my open orders are all wrapped up! #vitrifiedstudiocollection
